A BRIEF HISTORY : SHAOLIN MARTIAL ARTS
Sensei Bernard Williams started studying Shaolin Martial Arts under the tutelage of Grandmaster Tak Wah Eng (N.Y.Chinatown)
in 2000. He currently holds the rank of 3rd degree Black Sash.
Grandmaster Tak Wah Eng brings with him over 40 years of Wushu study in the Hung System, the Northern System, and the Tiger Claw System through Grandmaster Wai Hong. Grandmaster Tak Wah Eng also teaches other authentic Shaolin Wushu such as Tai Chi Pole, The Long Pole, The Sword, and various weapons and open hand Shaolin forms. Through his own compilation, he has developed a curriculum for teaching purposes. He is also the head of the Tak Wah Federation made up of various Wushu Schools in the country.
Sensei Bernard teaches all the authentic movements as shown to him by Grandmaster Tak. The forms can also be broken down into sections to aid the student in using them for sparring and self-defense in addition to the conditioning from practice. The 8th Buta School of Kempo also offers Martial Arts Clinics/Seminars where students can learn directly from Grandmaster Tak and also participate in Wushu Tournaments. One-on-one training with the Grandmaster is also available at an advanced level.
